The Christ Apostolic Church International (CAC), a non-governmental organisation, was founded by Apostle Peter Anim. He and his Faith Tabernacle Church (which later became known as the Christ Apostolic Church) are credited with the origins of Classical Pentecostalism in Ghana. An interest in a Christian periodical, "The Sword of the Spirit", led him to fraternize, through correspondence, with its editor, Pastor A. Clark, founder of the Faith Tabernacle Church, Philadelphia. Though non-Pentecostal, Faith Tabernacle placed much emphasis on faith healing and holiness, themes his Presbyterian upbringing had not exposed him to. He embraced these teachings and tested their efficacy by obtaining healing for himself from a chronic stomach disorder and guinea worm infestation miraculously through prayer. The Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), which was established in 1917, is the first Pentecostal church in the country. From little beginning in Asamankese in the Eastern Region, the church has grown and has become the Mother of all Pentecostal churches in the Country. CACI currently has 3000 Assemblies in Ghana and Overseas .... The Mission of the church is; CAC (International) as part of the body of Christ, exist to bring salvation in Christ to all persons in the world by preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ as in the Holy Scriptures, the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct, discipline believers towards Christian maturity and worshiping the Triune God- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Its objectives are threefold namely; spiritual which cover doctrinal issues and social objectives which comprise activities that contribute to the social and economic development of its members and other needy groups or communities. The Vision of the church is, knowing Christ and making Christ-like disciples of all nations, tribes and peoples and constituting them into bible believing fellowships for worship, edification and further evangelization.. |
